Once you’ve decided on the project you want to undertake, note down the number of the project you want to undertake and post a comment with your name and the number and the title of the project you’re undertaking.
The key is to be comprehensive, specific, detailed and truly informative and useful.
Don't just look out for the easiest article to write but try to work on one that will challenge you. You will learn a lot as you work through these projects so don't hesitate or be scared to pick up projects you know very little about. But of course, don't go for one that you have no confidence in writing.

Owing to the fact that quality of the article is what is of primary importance, the deadlines are a bit flexible but for practical purposes, the expected deadline is 2 weeks from the undertaking of the project.
While writing the project, make sure that you keep a log of all the sources you’ve used and list them at the end of the article. Citing your sources is very important for the professional quality of the articles.

Always rely on indisputable and reliable sources of information such as factual evidence, empirical data or studies published in popular journals etc. and not some opinion articles or some articles published on some random website etc. Get citations to reliable sources.
DO NOT phrase your personal opinions overtly without sufficient justification for it. While expressing your opinion be very careful to making sure that your opinions are expressed as carefully worded speculations rather than as definitive facts.
In the end, your article should be as indisputable and reliable as possible. Use your judgment wisely.

[Investigation] "Psychology of students" - Prepare a questionnaire and consult a Psychology expert (or a pediatrician) and either interview them or ask them to write for us on the psychological effects on the students that is caused by the heavy competition and drilling they go through in secondary school/coaching centers. Also comment on how these factors affect the young minds and their ability to think creatively. Consult the executive editor with the draft for approval and suggestions before proceeding further.
[Research Project] "Industrial model Vs. the Democratic Education System" - Research and write about what will constitute an Ideal Democratic Education system and also discuss innovative education methods such as project based learning, enquiry based learning etc. Compare it with the most prominent model of education i.e. the industrial educational model. Use internet resources, especially edutopia. Some keywords are "Ken Robinson (a renown educationalist), sudbury valley model, industrial educational model".
[Research Project] "Learning to learn" - Research on this unique concept of "Learning to learn" and elucidate it to the lay reader.
[Research Project] “The recent developments in IES” and new educational methods in the world etc. Use journalism media websites such asindiacurrentaffairs.org to dig out the recent developments in IES. Write a comprehensive article that includes events such as the proposal for innovarsities, making board exams optional etc.
[Investigation] "Why Finland has the best education system in the world" - Find a Finnish professor or student, prepare a questionnaire and either interview them or ask them to write for us regarding the various factors (such as the open book exams, group work, and other practices) about the Finnish Education system that makes it one of the best in the world. Finding someone Finnish is not that hard. There are websites such as "interpals.net,penpals.phk.at etc." where you can find hordes of Finnish students, youngsters and even professors. The trick is finding the "right" Finn and preparing the questionnaire that is appropriate and investigate the issues.

Factors to investigate would be "expectation of what they'd find at IIT prior to getting in there, the amount of hard work they put in and other techniques they used to get in there, the extent of innovative educational tools used by IITs, how satisfied they were by the education they received there, the amount of research and innovation done at IITs etc."
[Research Project] "Syllabuses and Curricula" - Research on the bodies at all levels that are responsible for revision and updating of syllabuses and curricula and prepare a report-like article that also discusses how often they do it and any other important information that is available such as what factors that use to do the revisions. Maybe they conduct surveys on school children or try to use the innovative content of curricula in other countries etc., make it clear. Most importantly, compare the syllabus of a popular mainstream course in a regular Indian institution with that of its counterpart in either the US or some other developed nation.
[Ideas] “Alternatives to the caste-based reservation system” - This one could be undertaken by someone and everyone else could collaborate by suggesting intelligent alternatives to the caste-based reservation system.
[Editorial] “The mindset dilemma” - How much is the people’s mindset responsible for the poor state of education system in India? By poor state I mean this phenomenon of students running behind professional courses such as engineering instead of going by their desires and interests. Are people overdosing on groupthink and choosing to follow the herd or do they follow the herd because they are left without options by the economic circumstances, resource constraints and industry demands? Can the people’s mindset and trends be changed to one where they follow their heart and not the meagre promise of safe path to financial security? What could be done? Substantiate your argument with evidence. Also elaborate on how groupthink affects the way people in India think in general.

[Editorial] “Right of the Children to Free and Compulsory Education” - In light of the passing of the “Right of the Children to Free and Compulsory Education, 2009”, write about the effect with which free and compulsory education in India is being implemented and received.
[Investigation] “Teach for India” - Write on the efforts of ‘Teach for India’. Start with an introduction to their initiative, the backgrounds of the people who came together to start it, where they get the funds, how it works, interview some people who’ve worked for it, their motivation and inspiration to work for the initiative. Write in a neutral tone without bias either towards or against it. Just keep it objective.
[Research Project] “Hole in the wall and other ideas” - Research out the ideas of the educational researcher Mr. Sugata Mitra such as “Hole in the wall”, “Child-driven education”, “Experiments in self-teaching” and many others and introduce them to the lay reader. I’m telling you, this guy is amazing, brought tears to my eyes when I finished watching one of his TED talks. Again, the key is to be comprehensive and specific.
[Investigation] “Lack of personal freedom in colleges” - Investigate why in some colleges there are rules like “Don’t wear round-neck T-shirts!”, “Don’t talk to the opposite sex!”, “Don’t use mobile phones in the campus!” and other such stupid rules. These rules are prevalent mainly in the south Indian colleges. Investigate where it is most prevalent and why it is so, who sets these rules, why the administrators think having these rules is beneficial, what the students think of these rules and the negative effects these rules are having. Report with corroborating evidence and elaborate on how this is a violation of basic human rights and personal privacy.
[Investigation] “Montessori education in India” - Introduce this method to the lay populace and discuss the various aspects of it, its benefits, drawbacks and other atributes.
[Investigation] “How innovative will Innovarsities be?” - The government plans to set up 14 research-oriented universities based on the US higher education model, each with a focus area ranging from science to sustainable development. A draft law that will make it easier for foreign universities to open campuses in India is yet to be cleared by Parliament. Investigate, without bias, what the drawbacks and benefits of the fundamental idea behind this move are. Will this genuinely work or is it blind westernization?

Investigate whether this is an efficient way of learning (i.e. portfolios replacing the need for exams, self-designed courses etc.) and report in an unbiased way.
[Investigation] “Cultural and economic resistance to innovation” - How hard is it for an innovative individual to capitalize on his skills and talents in the Indian culture and economy? Delineate in detail the challenges offered by the cultural/public outlooks on innovation and economic policies of the government that a driven youngster has to face in order to develop and fully mature his abilities to innovate and then sell it. Also investigate the roots of these challenges and use the understanding to propose concrete solutions. Interview young entrepreneurs trying to create innovation based enterprises within India.
